During the early Spring of 1939 the war with Germany almost inevitable, the British government's Ministry of Information commissioned a number of propaganda posters to be displayed throughout the country. The plan for the posters was to relay a message of calm to the people of the country. Seventy years later I am recreating the message for a new generation.
The original poster used a crown of King George to symbolize power and authority. I have chosen to use the Ten Gallon Cow Boy Hat to represent the United States.
There is no record of who designed the slogan originally. My interpretation of the original poster is a tribute to that unknown person who created it.
I hope you find reassurance in its words and are inspired to convey an attitude and state of mind of calm perseverance.
Remember to support your local artists, shops, restaurants and activities.
Share the message with your friend’s neighbors and relatives. Posters are available for order from Kate@redanvilart.com.
